A New Chapter

It has been a busy time for me lately, but Restored Charm is back and better than ever (at least I like to think so!) :) We had a successful week at an arts and crafts festival at River's Bend Winery in West Point, GA and are now preparing for the Hillside Arts and Music Festival on April 18th in LaGrange! I am excited about this new venture and can't wait for everyone to see some of my new projects and a few of my very first creations! I am so blessed to have so many amazing friends and family members willing to help sand, paint, stain, and encourage me to continue working to make this dream a reality! Christmas time's a comin'

Some of you may be thinking that I have abandoned my blog or ceased restoring the charm, but I'm back! :) I always knew it was going to be difficult balancing teaching, blogging, AND actually making the projects. Not to mention my beloved Georgia Bulldogs began playing. But never fear, I haven't stopped working on projects! I simply haven't found the time to write about it. I realized that I really should update you on my latest project...Restored Charm's First Annual Christmas Sale. That's right...A vintage Christmas is headed your way! Christmas is my very favorite time of the year for so many reasons. I love the fellowship of friends and family, the music, and of course the decorations! I have always been a sucker for Christmas decorations and I have a full storage building to prove it. I started out making decorations for my house this year and quickly decided to have a sale. Here are a few pictures of things that I have been working on...

 My sale will be November 15th at my house from 5:00 until we run out of things to sale. I have made several Christmas decorations as well as many gifts available for purchase. It's time to Restore a little Charm...finally!!!

I have finally had an afternoon to sit down and spend a little time on the marketing side of Restored Charm. Although I have not had time to blog in a while, I have be constantly making projects outside in my beloved "workshop." Lately, I have been asked to make several signs with various quotes for my friends. Here are a few examples...

My friends have always been a huge part of my life and the last two weeks have been spent celebrating birthdays and babies for some of my closest friends!
      There is no better way to celebrate turning 30 than camping ALL weekend! That's exactly what we did for my dear friend Carly. It was no surprise that so many people came to celebrate a very special gal! :)

     Next, I helped throw a baby shower for my best friend since the second grade, Chelci and her sister Evie. During the summer, we spend most Wednesdays going to the flea market, eating boiled peanuts, and laying by the pool. I can't wait for Lyla and Gray to join us soon! :)

Father's Day

     When it comes to Fathers, I would challenge anyone to find a better Daddy than my own. He is kind, supportive, and always ready to help his 3 daughters. For Father's day, he came to town and my sister and I met him for lunch. After lunch, we met the majority of the Binion family at a memorial to honor various war veterans. My Grandaddy served in WWII and we met to find the brick with his name. We spent some time honoring his service and of course laughing. It is hard not to laugh when you have a family full of funny people. :)

      And now, PROJECTS!!! I have really enjoyed my latest projects. First, I made wooden letters with colored roses for a friend's nursery. It took a few trips to find the right colors, but I think we finally found them! I love the flower wall vases that I made for graduation gifts. I wish I would have had one when I was in college. Flowers always make a space feel like home! Finally, I made a coffee table out of an old window for my cousin. I am currently redecorating her porch. Between fixing mantles, moving furniture, and finding the perfect curtains, we are having a blast! I am going to be so jealous of the porch when we finish.

Projects Galore

     Projects, Projects, Projects...that's how I have spent my first few days of summer vacation from teaching. It has been so much fun figuring out faster and easier ways to finish projects. With every project comes complications and it is very hard for me to get past some of those "failures." But I haven't given up and continue my search for the best way to re-purpose my "junk."
     Here are a few of my latest projects...

 

     I am finishing up several other projects and will post pictures soon! In other news...my Facebook page has become the center of many comments. I have openly resisted joining Facebook for several reasons and now that I have joined, many of my friends are reminding me of my earlier comments. Of course, I enjoy the humor of it all. :) 

     This week should be slow on the project front. I have several exciting things coming up...birthday parties and baby showers for a couple of my best friends. I can't wait to share some much needed quality time with a few of my favorite people. :)
